05.07.05 : Las Vegas : Round 16

Round 16, the last stop on the AMA SX series, was held in Las Vegas, NV. Team Amsoil/Honda/ No Fear rider Kevin Windham looked like he had the win in the bag as he shot out to a huge lead. But then KW got out of control in the whoops and crashed into third place. Windham ended up in 3rd place in the overall 2005 AMA SX points standing.

Factory Yamaha rider Heath Voss had his best finish of the year in 5th place. Great ride Heath! Heath had special one-off gear just for this race--"you look good, you feel good, you ride good!" Voss finished the 2005 SX season in 8th place in AMA SX points.

The AMA's top finishing privateer, Tyler Evans, had a special night with the presentation of his new truck, trailer, and checks totaling over $150,000. Congratulations T-Eazy! Tyler had a great ride in his semi by passing people left and right on his way from last to grab the last qualifying position. With a 17th in the main, Evans finished in a tie with James Stewart for 10th place in 2005 AMA SX points.

Who is the fastest rider in the combined 125cc class? Davi Millsaps. Davi grabbed the lead in the 125cc main and ran with it. No one had anything for him. The official points tally has yet to be published.

Team Samsung/Sprint/No Fear mixed luck in Vegas with Summey and Adams riding well finishing 9th and 14th, respectively, while Steve Boniface was taken out and was unable to finish.

04.30.05 : Houston : Round 15

This was the first year the AMA supercross tour has visited the new Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX. Goodbye Astrodome! Carmicheal clinched the 250cc championship and Bubba won the main event.

The best race of the night was 250 heat one where Bubba, Reed and No Fear's Kevin Windham battled back and forth until KW ended up taking the win after both Reed and Bubba threw their leads away by crashing. Kevin rode well in the main, not allowing the leaders to get away. KW finished fourth behind Bubba, Reed and RC. Kevin now sits in 3rd in points going into Las Vegas.

Congratulations to No Fear/Bloodshot/Skaterade rider Tyler Evans on clinching the AMA's top privateer award. "T-Eazy" finished 15th in the main and still holds 10th place in AMA series points.

Factory Yamaha/No Fear Texan Heath Voss was charging hard all day en route to finishing 11th in the main. Heath is holding down 8th place in AMA SX points.

Team Samsung/No Fear rider Josh Summey scored his best finish of the season in 5th place and is looking to be a serious contender in the Dave Coombs Sr. shootout in Las Vegas.

No Fear support rider Logan Darien is looking good, feeling good and riding good. Darien finished 18th in the 125cc main event. Eric Nye, also a No Fear support rider, finished just ahead of Logan in 16th place. Good rides guys!

04.16.05 : Seattle : Round 14

Supercross returned to Seattle this week for the first time since 1999. With rain drenching the track all week, it looked as though it was going to be A1 part 2. Although Dirt Wurx did another amazing job of salvaging the track, by the time the main events started, the track was more rutted and rougher than any other track this year--including Daytona.

Factory Connection/Honda/No Fear's Kevin Windham had one of his best rides of the season so far. KW won his heat, which happened to be heat #3 of the night due to the reworked qualifying schedule. Kevin showed his regained confidence as he beat the current champ and caught and passed the AMA series points leader. Windham holds down 3rd place in AMA SX points. Look for KW to finish the season out strong and carry his momentum into the outdoor nationals.

Tyler Evans continues to throw down for Bloodshot/Skaterade and No Fear. "T-Eazy" qualified for the main with a 2nd place in his heat race and followed it up with a season best 8th place. Evans is the top privateer in points, sitting in 9th place overall in AMA SX points.

Factory Yamaha backed Heath Voss scored a win in his semi to qualify for the main. Heath rode smart and smooth to collect 9th place and hold down 8th place in AMA SX points. The series recollected the west coast riders once again for the 125cc class.

Seattle also marked the first race back for Samsung/Sprint/No Fear rider Michael Blose. Blose rode his way into the main where he grabbed 17th. Teammate Josh Summey had a great night of racing that resulted in 7th place in the main. Summey maintains 18th in AMA SX points.

No Fear support rider Logan Darien has been getting used to his new YZ 250 on the east coast while the 125 west was on a break. Logan has looked great on the new bike and has kept his skills sharp for the west coast 125cc rounds. Logan roped in a 19th in the main.

03.26.05 : Dallas : Round 12

Round 12 of the AMA supercross series was held in Dallas, Texas. This was a hometown/comeback race for factory Yamaha rider Heath Voss, who had been out with an injury since before round 9 in St. Louis. Although he has had a couple of weeks off the bike, Voss picked up right where he left off by transferring through his heat race and finishing 8th in the main and moving up to 8th in AMA SX points. Welcome back Heath!

Mississippi based rider Kevin Windham has been putting some great races together and this week was no exception. Although his 7th place finish in the main was not up to his potential, the path getting there was a perfect example of his ability. KW suffered a horrible start that left him in last at the end of the first lap. Windham put his smooth and natural riding style to work as he cut through the pack one-by-one. Kevin maintains 3rd place in AMA SX points and is looking for another supercross win before he and the series moves to the nationals.

Bloodshot/Skaterade rider, Tyler Evans continues to keep the rest of the privateers behind him en route to becoming the AMA's highest ranking privateer. Tyler finished 13th in the main and holds 10th place in AMA SX points.

Factory Suzuki rider Davi Millsaps has one more week and 10 points to close the gap in the race for the East Coast AMA SX points. With the way he is riding, the possibility is real. Davi suffered a bad start in the main while Langston (the points leader) began to run away. Millsaps, however, was defiantly the fastest rider on the track as he passed a couple of riders and began to real in Langston. Lap after lap Davi closed in on Langston. Unfortunately, he simply ran out of time. Look for Davi to possibly clinch his first supercross title in Pontiac, Michigan.

Team Samsung/Sprint rider Troy Adams won his first heat race of the season, while teammate Steve Boniface grabbed the holeshot in the main. Adams and Boniface ended up together in 5th and 6th at the end of the main and in points.

03.19.05 : Daytona : Round 11

Round 11 of the AMA supercross series stayed in Florida this week as Orlando played host for the first time in 8 years. Friday's practice was canceled due to rain, however the track was in prime condition for the Saturday program. Whether the track is hard and slippery or soft and tacky, Kevin Windham always looks smooth and quick. Orlando was no exception as the Honda/No Fear rider started the evening off with a 2nd place in Heat 1. KW followed it up with a 4th in the main. Kevin maintains third in the AMA SX series points chase.

Tyler Evans was playing to his fans during the opening ceremonies with a WWF wrestling demo and body builder pose down. He then played to his sponsors and supporters with a direct transfer to the main through Heat 1. "T-Eazy" ended up 14th in the main event after a stalled bike forced him to give up a couple of positions. Tyler now sits in the top 10 in AMA SX points, 7 points out of 9th.

Factory Yamaha rider Heath Voss is still out of competition due to a practice crash and subsequent injury. Hopefully, Heath will be back for his home town race in Dallas on April 2nd.

Factory Suzuki rider Davi Millsaps killed it all weekend. He went 2 for 2 with a win in his heat race and a win in the main. Millsaps currently sits only 7 points out of the AMA SX point lead.

Team Samsung/No Fear continued their success this weekend with a pair of 3rds in each of Troy Adams and Steve Boifaces' heat races. Boniface roped in a top five in the main. Adams was a couple of spots back in 9th. The teammates are running 2 points apart from each other in 5th and 6th with Boniface only 2 points out of 4th place in AMA SX points.

03.12.05 : Daytona : Round 10

Daytona Beach, Florida played host to round 10 of the AMA Supercross series. Honda/No Fear rider Kevin Windham started the night of well, qualifying straight to the main with a second place finish. KW was the top finishing four stroke in the field at fifth. Windham now sits 35 points out of second place in the AMA SX points race.

Tyler "T-Eazy" Evans kept the dream alive with his thirteenth place in the nights main event. Evans is in the top ten of the AMA SX points chase. "Eazy" is fourteen points back of Team Yamaha/No Fear's Heath Voss, who is still out with an injury. Despite missing races, Heath still maintains ninth place in the AMA SX point battle.

Team Samsung/No Fear rider Troy Adams put in a great ride Friday. After winning the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), Adams powered through the tough Daytona track in the main event to earn third place and his first podium of the year. Samsung/No Fear teammate Steve Boniface continues to ride quick and consistent with a qualifying third in his heat and seventh in the main. Adams and Boniface are currently fifth and seventh in AMA SX points, respectively.

Factory Suzuki phenom Davi Millsaps was looking to up his second place finish from last week's race and score his second win of the season. Everything was looking smooth after Davi won his heat race. Unfortunately, Millsaps was hit from behind in the first turn of the main causing a pile up. Although he was able to remount and charge up through the pack, he crashed again, damaging his bike and ending his ride for the night. Davi is now ten points out of second place in AMA SX points.

03.05.05 : St. Louis : Round 9

For round 9 of the AMA supercross, the series visited St. Louis, Missouri. Honda/No Fear star, Kevin Windham kept his smooth and consistent riding style together throughout the night's program with a 2nd place qualifing position in his heat and then followed it up with a 3rd in the main. KW maintains 3rd place in the AMA series SX points chase.

Bloodshot/Skaterade/No Fear rider Tyler Evans threw down another great ride as he transferred in 3rd place through his semi and placed 15th in the main event.

Factory Yamaha pilot, Heath Voss was not able to ride this week due to a crash in practice earlier this week. Everyone at No Fear is eagerly awaiting his return at Daytona.

East coast 125cc racing continues to treat No Fear riders well. Troy Adams scored another heat win for No Fear and Samsung. Adams ended up finishing 8th in the 125 main. Adams' teammate Steve Boniface finished just ahead of him in 6th place. Factory Suzuki/No Fear ace Davi Millsaps had two more come-from-behind charges in St. Louis. In his heat race, Davi went down on the start and came all the way from last to qualify for the main. Again in the main, Millsaps got tangled up in a first turn pile up. Davi charged through the pack all the way to finish in 2nd place. If Davi can manage a good start, he should be able to repeat his round one win. As of now, he sits 7 points out of the AMA SX 125 points lead.

02.26.05 : Atlanta : Round 8

Round 8 of the AMA supercross series was held in front of another sold out crowd at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The dome was good to the Factory Connection/Honda/No Fear rider Kevin Windham, who followed up his 2nd place finish in heat 2 with a solid 3rd place finish in the main. Kevin has now moved up to 3rd in the AMA points standings ahead of his teammate Mike Larocco.

Factory Yamaha/No Fear rider Heath Voss transferred directly out of his heat race to the main where he charged into a final 7th place. Heath moved up to 8th place in the AMA points standings.

Bloodshot/No Fear rider Tyler Evans also moved up in the AMA points standings from 12th to 11th, after a 10th place finish in the main.

The the second round of the 125 East Coast series fired up again this weekend in Atlanta. Coming off his first pro win two weeks ago in Indianapolis, factory Suzuki star rider Davi Millsaps was looking to repeat his performance in front of a hometown crowd. Although he didn't get the win, Davi definitely had a championship caliber ride as he came from back of the pack to grab an incredible 4th place. Millsaps now holds second place in the AMA 125 East Coast points race and will be looking to regain the points lead next week when the circuit moves to St. Louis.

Team Samsung/No Fear riders Steve Boniface and Troy Adams also enjoyed another successful weekend of racing. Steve won the LCQ and kept his momentum up in the main for a 3rd place podium finish. Troy looked as though he had the speed to run up front, finishing 3rd in his heat. Unfortunately, a bad start and a one-lined track held him to 13th in the main. Boniface and Adams hold 8th and 10th, respectively, in AMA series points.

02.19.05 : San Diego : Round 7

San Diego was host for round seven of the AMA supercross series. Although the area had thunderstorms all week, the track was preserved and ended up in prime condition for races. After a solid ride in his heat race, Kevin Windham followed it up with a 5th in the main event.

Heath Voss looked great as he rode more aggressively this week than in past rounds. After charging through the pack, Heath looked like he was going to pass teammate DV for the Semi race win before they ran out of track at the checkers. Voss kept his momentum up with an 8th place in the main. Heath moved up to 9th in the AMA points chase.

Tyler 'T Eeze' Evans was celebrating a birthday and fighting off the flu Saturday night. The flu wasn't that obvious due to another great ride in his heat race, grabbing a transfer spot into the main. Evans maintained his 12th place standing in AMA points with his 12th place in the main event.

Team Samsung No Fear rider Josh Woods finished 17th in the main. His teammate, Josh Summey, missed the main due to a crash in a tricky rhythm section during his heat race.

Support rider Logan Darien threw down an impressive ride Saturday night grabbing 15th in the main. Logan qualified for the night program in both the 125 and 250 class.

02.12.05 : Indianapolis : Round 6

For the first time this year, the AMA Supercross Series headed east for Round Six in Indianapolis, Indiana. Indy was good to the No Fear riders, most notably Davi Millsaps, who roped the first supercross win of his career. Davi turned a sketchy start (tangling in a first turn pileup) into a great heat race. After passing almost half of the field, Davi ended up qualifying 3rd, transferring him directly to the main where he had a decent start, a couple of passes, and then Davi was gone. Pulling away with no challenge, Davi cruised to his first career win. Congratulations on a great ride and his first of many victories to come.

Team Samsung/Sprint/No Fear's East Coast rider Steve Boniface started the night program off with a commanding wire to wire win in Heat 1. Unfortunately, during the main Steve got a little crazy in the whoops and went down, ending his night in 22nd place. Teammate Troy Adams had to work a bit harder to get his spot in the main (thru the LCQ). Regardless, Troy rode well in the main. An early crash set him back, but the hard charger made passes and worked his way up to 11th for the night.

Last Saturday's crash left Kevin Windham battered and bruised throughout last week. He was unable to ride during the week and was still feeling the effects of the get off coming into Indy. Despite all of that, KW fought through his distractions and ended up throwing down an amazing effort for the night. He raced closely with Carmichael in his heat race finishing second. In the main RC and Reed ran away with the lead, but Kevin smoked the rest of the field landing him on the podium for the fourth time this year. Windham holds 3rd place in the AMA Supercross points standings for the season.

Factory Yamaha rider Heath Voss had a great night of racing with a third place in heat one and an 8th in the main. He maintains his 10th place standing in the AMA Supercross points standings for the season.

Fan favorite and factory outcast, Tyler Evans, qualified for the main with a 3rd place finish in the semi. 'T-Eeze' fell victim to the Indy bottleneck start and had to race from the back of the pack in the main. Evans finished 16th for the night and now sits 11th in the AMA Supercross points standings.

02.05.05 : Anaheim III : Round 5

After four rounds of racing, Kevin Windham was looking to close the 16 point gap between himself and the points leader. Everything looked to be on track as Kevin put in a solid 2nd place finish in his heat race after a buttery pass on Byrne through the whoops. When the gate dropped on the main, KW looked like he had a strong ride ahead of him as he began to move through the pack after a mid-pack start. Unfortunately, Windham clipped a tuff block in the rhythm section after the split section, throwing his bike into neutral and his body to the ground. Kevin suffered a pinched nerve in his hip but should be healed up and ready to break RC's streak as the series goes east for the first time this year. KW has momentarily dropped to 4th in points behind Amsoil/Honda/Chapparel teammate Larocco.

Yamaha/No Fear Pilot Heath Voss had a turbulent flight through the night's program, as well. Heath threw down a great ride in his heat race. With a pass on Larocco, Voss locked in a second and a trip straight to the main. Voss was riding well in his main until a crash in the whoops left him with a broken silencer--finishing 17th and ending his ride for the night. Heath is currently 4th in the World SX points chase and 10th in AMA points.

Fresh off a semi win in San Francisco, Tyler 'T-eeze' Evans was looking to outdo himself in his heat race. A good jump on the gate had T-eeze in a qualifying position until Ernesto Fonseca aggressively passed him just before the last lap. Most Evans fans knew what was about to happen next. Tyler hounded Ernie for the next couple of corners until Fonseca made the one mistake you don't want to make with Evans--he left the inside open. Living up to his nickname of 'One Punch', Evans connected with Ernie and dropped him to the ground, swooping on the last transfer spot in the heat. T-eeze's main also went well as he made passes on his way up to a 9th place finish, holding his 5th overall in World SX points and 11th in AMA Supercross.

The Samsung/Sprint/No Fear team had its most successful night to date. Both Josh Summey and Josh Woods transferred directly out of their heat races with fourth and ninth place results, respectively. Summey rode smart to take 17th in the main, while Woods grabbed his best result of the year in 7th.

No Fear MX support riders Logan Darien and Bobby Garrison made the night show after strong rides in their day qualifiers, finishing 6th and 4th.

01.29.05 : San Francisco : Round 4

It was another sold out event at SBC Park for round four of the 2005 SX season. Kevin Windham easily won his heat race over Chad Reed. In the main event Kevin was running fourth and tried to go inside on LaRocco and went down. Although the crash wasn't severe, it did take him a while to restart and eventually got going in 15th. The track was short and tight making passing difficult, yet Kevin worked hard to work his way through the crowd to finish 9th.

Heath Voss finished 7th in the main event and now sits 8th in the overall standings.

Tyler Evans had a good night finishing right behind Windham in 10th. Tyler keeps improving each week and we're looking for him to wind up on the podium soon.

01.22.05 : Anaheim II : Round 3

At yet another sold out event in Anaheim, Kevin Windham rode an amazing race. He went down hard in his heat race and was dazed and very bruised up, but came back in the semi final to win and transfer to the main. In the main event, he started slow and came all the way back from 17th to finish 3rd. To finish in 3rd--considering the shape he was in from crashing in his heat race--was unreal. Kevin now sits in second place in the points overall.

Heath Voss rode consistent to finish 10th. Heath is now in 8th in the overall standings.

Tyler Evans finished 13th and is now 14th in the overall standings.

Robbie Reynard is out until the outdoor nationals. He had ACL knee surgery this week...get well soon, Robbie.

Team Samsung Josh Summey finished 11th in the 125 main event. Josh Woods had another rough weekend and did not transfer to the main event.

250 Class
It was another sold out event at round two of the 2005 SX season held at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ. Kevin Windham finished second after battling early with Ricky. Kevin holds the point lead for the season championship to this point. Heath Voss rode a great race to finish 5th. Tyler Evans was riding very well in the 250 main when he had a mechanical failure and crashed hard. He is OK and looking forward to Anaheim 2. Robbie Reynard had an off weekend with bad starts and did not make the main event.

125 Class

01.08.05 : Anaheim I : Round 1

The opening event for the 2005 SX season was sold out over a month in advance and was the most anticipated SX that anyone can ever remember. In the 250 class, Kevin Windham did not let any of his fans down as he rode a smooth and steady race to easily win by an amazing 62 seconds over his teammate LaRocco. The weather was most riders' main competition as it rained most of the week and sporadically throughout the evening of the race. Heath Voss finished 11th and Tyler Evans finished 12th, Robbie Reynard had a mechanical failure and finished 19th.

In the our first race with the 125 Class Samsung Team, Josh Woods rode a great race to finish 2nd in the 125 class. We are very happy to be working with this team. The riders are Josh Woods and Josh Summey on the west coast. Troy Adams and Steve Boniface will compete in the 125 east coast SX series. All four riders will ride the 125 outdoor nationals later this year. The next SX event is at Phoenix, Arizona on 01/15/05.
